Happy Graduation!

I was honored to be asked to make a graduation cake for a friend's granddaughter. Because she loves pink, I made the tassel and some flowers from pink gum paste. I used black fondant to cover the small chocolate cake that serves as the graduation cap, as well as to make the mortarboard. White fondant covers the larger vanilla cake; for a little flair, I created a quilted diamond pattern since the recipient's name is Diamond. I was happy to hear she was thrilled with her graduation cake!
