If you have followed me for a while, you know that I enter the Hudson Valley Gingerbread Contest every year (junior category). Thanks to the pandemic, there wasn't a 2020 competition, but it was back for 2021 and I came in 2nd place with my vision of "A Hobbit Holiday" at Bag End. Everything is completely edible, with no non-edible supports. I made the Christmas tree and a lot of the accessories from modeling chocolate and fondant and constructed all of the furniture out of gingerbread. I used food dye to colorize some of the gingerbread, particularly for the exterior details. The "snow" is Splenda since I liked the texture better than powdered or granulated sugar. I had fun imagining what Bag End would look like for the holidays!
